Country Guest Rooms, Dordogne, France

Welcome to Le Moulin de Faye !

Nature in Perigord

Our old and typical house is located in the center of the French Dordogne, more specifically in the Périgord area.

A place of omnipresent and very well preserved nature, away from mass tourism.

An hour’s drive from Bordeaux and 30 minutes from Périgueux, the city that gives the region its name, a stay in our guesthouse is ideal to relax and connect with nature.

Our goal is to offer a pleasant and comfortable place in a quiet and familiar environment.

Simplicity and Conviviality

We prefer a “holiday with friends” atmosphere for your stay.

Our animals participate in the rural and warm atmosphere that we love. The dog Donna and the cat Venus will delight young and old.

Gastronomy and local products

The breakfasts are taken in common for a moment of exchange and friendship.

For your meals, many small restaurants favoring local products and at very affordable prices are within a radius of a few kilometers.

Your host will be happy to show you his best addresses.

An old, rural and typical house of the Dordogne region

Our old house, built in the 19th century in the typical style of the Perigord, on a plot of more than 5000 m2, which is a natural space with lots of greenery and a forest of chestnut trees.

It is part of the ancillary constructions of the Moulin de Faye. This water mill used a tributary stream of the Beauronne. Today it is disused but still in good condition, and we are the only inhabitants of this tiny hamlet.

The house has been restored respecting traditional materials, old paving, beautiful exposed frame, so that it retains all its charm of yesteryear but with modern comfort.

It consists of 2 levels of 150 m2 each.

To better disconnect, we chose not to have a television. But free WiFi and very efficient throughout the house.

Relaxing and sporty activities

Rural area with its own gastronomy and traditional cuisine made with local products: chestnuts, mushrooms, strawberries, foie gras. The place invites to taste its cheeses and wines, with thirteen appellations of origin.

Dordogne has become an international benchmark with exceptional cultural, historical and prehistoric heritage: more than a thousand castles scattered throughout the area, churches, and prehistoric caves with paintings such as those of Lacaux, a world cultural heritage of humanity.
